2009 Update
Another year is gone and so are my good intentions of blogging about the family. Here is a year of photos to show what we have been up to.
Dad broke his arm in January checking the roads for us to go to town for groceries.
Went to Florida in January to see Justin
and Disney World!
Chris went on his first work mission trip to Chile.
A tree fell on our house during a storm and we got a new roof! Major praise for this one. The lord is so good to us.
Annikan was running low in the yard and whacked his face on a brick tile in the yard. No stitches, just surgical glue.
Daddy spent 30 hours with random help to build the boys a play set.
Annikan played organized tball for the first time. Go Rockies!
Olliver enjoyed his first set of gymnastic lessons. He is such a monkey.
Jon Troast helped us celebrate Chris' 33rd birthday in style by having his 99th concert at our house on his tour of 100 concerts in 100 days.
We enjoyed living in Indiana and ate way too much sweet corn this summer.
Dad celebrated his 55th birthday with the best birthday party ever, says Olliver.
CCC summer picnic was a blast!
Olliver was finally big enough to ride his tricycle.
Annikan learned to ride his bike with no training wheels.
Annikan played soccer and rocked the field.
We utilized our family membership to the zoo, several times.
Gianna our beautiful life group baby was born.
The boys held still for a couple seconds for a fall photo shoot
Olliver the dragon for Halloween.
Annikan the mailman, again!
Chris tried to grown a mustache. I said no way.
Olliver celebrated his 3rd birthday :)
Annikan celebrated his 5th birthday.
Getting ready to celebrate Jesus birth with the family. I hope you come to know our Savior better this year!
All our love,

BUSY
It has been really busy for us this summer... who am I kidding, since Olliver has come. Chris got a new position and has been working almost 60 hours a week! He also is still training for the Columbus Marathon on the 21st of October so he runs a lot...well he's supposed too. Then he is running a 50k in Huntington late December. That's 31 miles~ Annikan is very tiring. He is so very active and quite naughty. His speech is really taking off....he's very curious and loves to repeat things that he hears us say in later conversations. Olliver is still struggling to gain weight but is somewhat crawling...on his head mostly but gets around. He can clap, give 5, pull himself to a stand and say mama. I am still adjusting to life with two and all of Olli's appointments. He has OT every Tuesday, Nutrition every Wednesday and PT every Thursday. Every 3 months he has two appointments at Riley in Indy with Dr. Hamati in Neurology and also at the Developmental Peds unit. He then sees his pediatrician every 2 months for checkups. All of his test have come back clean so that is promising but he is still Failure to Thrive. Frustrating but we are working hard on it. He now weights 13 pounds and 8 ounces. He has a lose a couple weeks ago but has gained it back...he had a virus with projectile puking! Fun.
We are really loving the weather change. Now on our walks Annikan will ride his tricyle. It is cute. He thinks he is really fast.

Chris the Marathon Man
Chris has ran in several races this year and I wanted to show him off a bit.
On May 12th he ran in his first ever marathon in Lake Geneva, WI. For those of you who don't know, that is a whopping 26.2 miles! Crazy, if you ask me. He did really well given the toughness of the course (it was all hills). He ended up losing two of his toe nails due to the down slopes! He finished 11th overall out of 106 runners. He was 3rd in his age division with a time of 3:25:17 that is a 7:50 pace! He is excited to beat that time in Columbus this October and hopefully qualify for Boston. He has a goal.
On June 2nd he ran in the Mentone Egg Festival Eggcity 5k. He came in 2nd overall out of about 20 runners. He was first in his age division with a PR of 17:49. He came in 9 seconds behind a 17 year old track kid from Plymouth. He was so disappointed!
On June 23rd he participated in his first triathlon in Winona Lake. It was the Optimist Triathlon. He has participated as a team member doing the running portion for the last two years. He finished 84th overall out of 459 participants. He was 5th in his age division with a finishing time of 1:14:31. Not too shabby for his first time and not being able to train well for it. He only swam once and for about an 1/8 of a mile. He is looking to shave about 4 minutes off his time for next year. Some of my friends did it also. The picture has them in it as well. Great job Tonya, Lara, Nancy and Stacey!
Up next is the Muddy Buddy event in August and I am trying to talk him and Joey into doing the triathlon in Fontina, WI in September. Chris is all excited about it but I need to get Joey on board!
I attached a few photos for your viewing pleasure!

Finally, A Nice Day!
We had a couple great days...for weather that is. Olliver spent his first time out of the house for an extended period. He really seemed to enjoy it. He just looked around and chewed on his hands. Annikan spent his time riding on PawPaw's new scooter. He loves it. We take rides around the cemetary, up to Nana's house and to the post office. He loves to wear his helmet. Work is going well...Anni still has a little separation anxiety when I drop him off at Kids Station but by the time I pick him up he doesn't want to leave. Olliver seems to be getter more used to being away from me. He is a mama's boy just like Annikan was. Annikan continues to press his limits and be a typical 2 year old boy. Olliver is still on the small side but not by lack of trying. Olli looks a lot more like PawPaw Ron than Anni does though. See the bottom photo for proof~!

Back to Work
This is my official last day of Maternity Leave. I am starting work on Monday morning and am not too excited about it. I am ready to start working, it just doesn't feel like I got that much quality time with Olliver. It was a completley different experience this time around. Annikan demands a lot of attention and Olliver gets what is left over. Olliver is developing well, he is so extremely smiley. He does seem to be developing a bit slower than Annikan though. Olliver is a much crankier baby than Annikan was, but sleeps amazingly comparativley. The last 12 weeks seem to have gone by so quickly. It really has only felt like 4 or 5 weeks. All of the projects that I wanted to get accomplished are not finished and some aren't even started. As of last week, my brother Craig moved in. We really have a full house now. The house just keeps getting smaller....Feel sorry for Chris, he has a lot of projects to do this Spring!
